About the Farmers Market
The Reading Farmers Market started in 2019 when the WeTHRIVE! Team hosted two market days where produce was purchased wholesale and resold. Today, the market has expanded with many vendors and has continued to have increased participation by residents in Reading and the surrounding communities.
WeTHRIVE! Team Members noted that many Reading residents live in a food desert, where it is difficult to buy affordable or good-quality fresh food. By working with local partners and vendors, the team continues to look forward to expanding the Farmers Market for residents in Reading and the surrounding areas. The market now proudly provides additional resources to its patrons, including Senior Farmers Market Vouchers, and Produce Perks!
